The other half

looking_around.jpgThe other half of the roof is now in place. It's been done for a week or so but I kept forgetting my camera when we over that way. It should also be obvious that we now have some windows too.

new_windows.jpgI saw them last Thursday when I went with François to the building after a meeting. It was very dark and we only had a small LED pocket lamp. It was just enough to see that work had been done. But not enough to see a number of the holes in the ground though.

roof_and_windows.jpgI didn't actually take these photos. I had, as you may have guessed, forgotten my camera. Thankfully Olivier had his iPhone so he agreed to come with me to take some pictures for the blog.

blox.jpgThis is some of the work that the men from the church did a couple of weeks ago. It's the beginning of the room that will house the heating system. A team is there again today doing more work. Unfortunately I can't even pop over and see them because I have a sick child at home with me today and my wife is at work. Otherwise I'd have taken the bus over. I'm extremely grateful to the five who are there today for giving up their time to help. So thank you to François, Olivier, Alain, Françis and Christian. They're all skilled men who know what they're doing.

make_believe.jpgFinally, a silly photo. Someone suggested we "take our places" and see how things felt in the new church. The piece of wood I'm holding is a microphone... honest. It was all OK until I said everyone could sit down. There was a general rebellion at that point because the floor was too cold and bumpy. The comment was made that we should have put the heating on. -4°c is a little cold for a church service.

It seems like things have suddenly sped up. I noted a while ago that once the walls were up it looked like everything had stopped. Work was being done but it wasn't so visible. Now we have a whole bunch of very evident work going on.
