The heat is on... almost

arc_de_triomphe.jpgNo photos from the building project today but I thought I would put up a few images from the town that I live in - Bastogne. Yesterday was "Paris en Ardennes" in the town. Loads and loads of shops were themed "à la Paris". A few of Paris' sights were also recreated. This is the Arc de Triomphe. It looks better from a distance.

eiffel_tower.jpgThe Eiffel tower was in the town hall so wasn't very large. I had to wait a while to get a clear shot of the whole tower. The hall was packed, as was the town itself. Sundays are often very busy in Bastogne but this was exceptional. And, yes the tower itself was straight, the hall was leaning...

school_art.jpgFinally, a picture of some pictures that were created by local school children to celebrate the day. There was a lot of similar art in the same hall, some of it very impressive.

After all that, there is some building project news. Last Wednesday the energy audit that we've been waiting for was completed. We haven't yet got the whole report but François talked with the auditor about the best heating system for the building. The answer: radiators. François then went to see the heating engineer and, in principle, if we sign the contract within the next week or so he can start right at the beginning of November. This is great news!
