More from the archives - Part 4
I was having a look through some more photos today and came across more archival material for the building project. The photos were taken by Alain V. in November 2005 at a special church meeting we had.
When we have a church meeting everything gets moved around - this is the normal configuration we use, just with more tables and chairs these days. I'm not quite sure why no-one ever seems to want to sit near me though.
In the background can be seen the old overhead projector that we used in the days before going digital. It was a rather large and heavy piece of equipment. I think I might still have a spare bulb for it sitting in the attic, though the OHP itself is long gone.
Paul, in his role as church treasurer kept us all informed of the financial aspects of the project. He did a great job and always made all of the details clear. When he died in 2006, a great loss to us all, I took over the church accounts and found that everything was so perfectly arranged and catergorised that learning the system wasn't too much of a struggle.
Finally, a photo of me next to the OHP. The image being projected was a kind of "stand in" for the real designs because at that stage I don't think we'd received anything from the architect. If I remember correctly it was a design based upon all of the ideas that had been suggested by church people. We're going to end up with something quite similar in many ways.
