Last night

I was a little early for last night's meeting at the church so thought I would pop along to the building site and see if there had been any changes since Sunday afternoon. I arrived to find that there were barriers around the entrance, lots of mud and quite a few machine tracks. I confess to having gone round the barriers that even had a sign saying "No Entry" (Defense de circuler sur les travaux... I think) in order to take a closer look. I could claim that I was encouraged by the friend who was with me. But that wouldn't be true. I was just as interested in going to have a look as he was.

The foundation for the new hall and the entrance have been dug and filled with concrete. The floor of the hall is being built up to the correct height. There are piles of earth everywhere. It was quite exhilarating to walk around the site and imagine what everything will look like in a few months time.

I took over the running of the building project in June 2004 so have lived with it for a while now. It is really quite an emotional thing to see it actually getting started.

Guy has some more recent photos than mine over on the French blog and I'll try and get some more on Sunday after church.
